“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
Proverbs 4:25-27
Greetings from Carmel
Onward and Upward!
I am delighted to see the changes happening on the ground and the new ministry initiatives taking root. Moving forward can be very exciting, and challenging at times, but we thank God for renewed strength and vision. While we continue to plan for the years ahead, may God Almighty establish our steps and may His purposes prevail.
One of the changes, as we move forward, is that I will be leaving my position as Director of Carmel. While it is sad to say goodbye, I leave in peace, knowing that God will continue the work being done. If we remain in Him, Carmel will bear much fruit!
Moving forward with God, also means that we walk in the divine purposes which God has determined, and so I am confident that Carmel will go from strength to strength.
Where we look, makes all the difference. We are called to keep our eyes on Jesus and as we fix our eyes on what is before us, may Carmel stay on the path of righteousness.
Wouter is well-established as our General Manager and is working hard to get all things ready for the upcoming holiday season. There are still spaces available for group visits in November, so consider Carmel if you need a place to gather. May you be blessed as you visit, and may you be restored (spiritually, physically and mentally) as you come and experience all that Carmel as to offer.
As I leave, I pray a blessing upon all guests, past and in the future, and all those involved with Carmel, that God will go before you and be gracious to you. May He rise up to show you compassion. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and exceed abundantly above all we may ask or imagine, to the honour and glory of His Name.
Take care and go well,
Bev Brodrick
Director
Greetings from Operations
Over the last few months, I have been sharing the various restoration projects underway at Carmel. All this would not be possible without the blessings of God to provide the means for restoration. God is at work!
Reception and Front Office Restoration
Still more restoration to come!
We continue to be filled with passion and God’s daily strength to restore Carmel to its fullest experience for all to enjoy the hospitality and ministry of Carmel.
Two more projects are set to commence this week which are the interior upholstery, curtains and painting of the Quiet Lounge and Fireside Lounge as well as the final decor and fittings being added to Kaye’s. I look forward to sharing these projects once completed, in time for the end of year holidays.
The team and I look forward to welcoming you to Carmel.

General Manager
Prayer Room October Highlights
Isaiah 43: 18-19″
Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth. I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people.”
Matthew 10:1-31
God is at work at Carmel and we pray to work towards God’s vision for Carmel. May God give us the faith to follow Him even if we don’t know everything that is ahead of us. We pray our guests will experience the restoring love of Christ within the hospitality and ministry of Carmel.

Carmel's ongoing legacy
The shared testimonies over the many years of Carmel’s history inspire confidence. God continues to be at work and use Carmel for His ministry. So many leave rested, encouraged, and restored, by the love of Jesus. The ripple effects of Carmel continue into eternity. All praise be to God!
In being able to continue the work of Carmel for future generations to come, we are seeking our valued guests and friends of Carmel for donations or bequests, in leaving a legacy into Carmel’s future. There are many specific projects we have on our hearts to implement the mission of Carmel, and many ways in which to become involved.
If being a part of Carmel’s legacy is on your heart, we would love to share our vision and projects with you in more detail and how you can be a part of Carmel’s bright future.
