Carmel Ministry Programmes
Throughout the year Carmel hosts a variety of meaningful, special interest ministry programmes and spiritually enriching seminars. Carmel staff as well as highly regarded teachers and specialists lead these programmes.

Designed for retired folk, but all welcome. The programme will focus on finishing our lives well in every way. We will be exploring the incredible possibilities of choosing Life in our latter years, regardless of the physical and mental challenges we may encounter.
Programme:
We will start each morning at 7h30 with a voluntary time of prayer in the chapel
A full Carmel breakfast at 8h00
At 9h00 each morning we will meet in the chapel for a short time of worship led by Geoff Carter, followed by teaching by Pete Veysie, a senior Methodist minister, and his wife, Debbie, also a gifted bible teacher. This will be followed by group discussion and sharing.
There will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the gardens or rest. Also fun activities, including a beach picnic, croquet and short walks and creative activities.
In the evenings after dinner, we will enjoy a musical evening, a games evening, a exercise evening with a physiotherapist, and a talk by a Palliative care specialist, covering many aspects, including Advance Directives or a Living Will.

Pathfinder-Impact Gap Year Discipleship Program
The Pathfinder-Impact Gap Year launches in February 2026, and we are preparing with great expectation for the students who will be joining us.
Last year was a powerful testimony of what God can do when young adults intentionally set time aside to grow in Him. As we look ahead, we are trusting God once again for deep growth, sanctification, and radical transformation in the lives of this next group of students.
Pathfinder facilitates a personal development gap year program built around transformative lifestyle discipleship, vocation and life skills, and team adventure experiences. Our heart is to help young adults become the leaders of tomorrow, grounded in faith and equipped with a Biblical Kingdom worldview.
Pathfinder-Impact is now in partnership with Shofar Christian Church in George and we are excited to serve and partner with them.

Pastor's Appreciation Retreat
We desire to show our appreciation for the integral role of all pastors in spreading the ministry of Christ, our Saviour to the world. During the regular season, we welcome all pastors and their spouse to take a time of rest (emotional, physical and spiritual) at Carmel to restore and reconnect.
Across the regular season, there is a special rate offered for a 2 night stay, including Sea View accommodation, breakfast and dinner for 2 people sharing.
The time is not a organised retreat but a time for you to take rest at a time that suits your schedule, within the loving community of Carmel.
